MITCH DOBROWNER
Mitch Dobrowner: A Journey Through Landscape Photography
Mitch Dobrowner, born in 1956, grew up in Bethpage, Long Island, NY. Feeling lost in his late teens, his future seemed uncertain until his father handed him an old Argus rangefinder camera, a gesture that profoundly changed his life.
After discovering the works of Minor White and Ansel Adams, Dobrowner quickly became passionate about photography. At 21, he left home, quitting his job and leaving behind friends and family to explore the American Southwest.
For nearly 30 years, Dobrowner worked independently, not sharing his work with the public. However, in early 2005, encouraged by his wife, children, and friends, he decided it was time to present his work to the world. Today, Dobrowner is on a passionate mission to create images that reflect his vision of our extraordinary planet.
“I owe much to the great photographers of the past, especially Ansel Adams, for their dedication to the craft and for inspiring me in my late teens. Although I never met them, their influence helped shape the direction of my life.”
Mitch Dobrowner: A Rising Star in Landscape Photography
