Jean-Daniel LORIEUX: Renowned Fashion and Portrait Photographer
Jean-Daniel LORIEUX is a French fashion photographer born in 1937 in Paris.
He began his career in 1964 at Studio Harcourt as an assistant before transitioning to freelance photography. For over two decades, he worked for top fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and L’Officiel.
Prestigious fashion houses like Christian Dior, Céline, Lanvin, Pierre Cardin, and Paco Rabanne entrusted him with their advertising campaigns. Extending beyond classic fashion photography, many notable personalities sought him out for portraits. His subjects have included Salvador Dali, Nelson Mandela, Serge Gainsbourg, Salma Hayek, Johnny Hallyday, and even President Jacques Chirac.
