Romain VEILLON (1983-) is a French photographer specializing in urban exploration, often referred to as ‘urbex’. As an urban explorer, he captures the out-of-date, sometimes post-apocalyptic, atmosphere of these locations where nature is reclaiming its space. Romain VEILLON is a self-taught photographer who initially focused on abandoned areas around Paris. He has since expanded his passion through travels around the world.

Through his photographs, Romain VEILLON creates a dialogue between the past, present, and future. Some of these places have continued to decay, while others have been demolished, vandalized, or restored. Photography becomes a witness to a moment in time, an optical record of a building.
